A Few Words About Dr. Christine Wong

Children’s Choir

Dr. Christine Wong was born and received most of her early musical training in Taiwan. Having lived for much of her successful career in Taiwan, she has become to be known through concert appearances and teaching. Dr. Wong is the winner in the Young Artist Competition by Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra in 2004 and Post-12 Piano Concerto Competition by Texas Music Teachers Association in 2003. She appears frequently in recitals including concerts in Taipei, Taichung, Changhua (Taiwan), Cincinnati, Dallas, Daytona, Denton, Fort Worth (U.S.A.), and Madrid (Spain).

 

As an active accompanist, Wong’s broad professional experiences embrace as the Winner Concert of National Invitational Choir Competition, Chicago Symphony Hall, American Classical Series, Myerson Center, Dallas and Choir Festival in National Cathedral, Washington D.C. She also gave her teaching in the Secondary Piano department of College-conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati in 2000-02 and University of North Texas as a Piano Instructor.

 

Wong holds the Bachelor degree of Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts; Master of Music from University of Cincinnati, College-conservatory of Music with full scholarship . She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of North Texas with Teaching Fellowship in the class of amazing artist and musician, world-known pianist Pr. Vladimir Viardo, whose teaching continues famous Russian piano. Her piano studies were primarily with Maestro Boris Lvov, Mr. Richard Field, Dr. Tai-cheng Chen, and Dr. Tzong-Kai Kuo. Dr. Wong was the adjunct professor at Tyler Junior College, and an active member in MTNA, TMTA, Plano MTA, NTMTA as well as the music director in the Redeemer Presbyterian Church and the adjunct professor at Tarrant County College currently.
